Edgeware continues to support content creators with UK Film Festival awards

Edgeware will sponsor the UK Film Festival Awards for the second year in a row. As part of its involvement, Edgeware will put forward a cash prize for the festival’s awards ceremony which recognises excellence among content creators. The festival will return to London from 22-26 November, 2017.

The festival’s multiple accolades will be awarded at the end of the week to celebrate short and feature films as well as documentaries and animations. Run by director Murray Woodfield, the UK Film Festival was set up by a group of filmmakers with a passion for quality and creativity.

The 2017 film festival will kick off at The BFI (British Film Institute) in London’s Soho on November 22 at 5:30pm, where a selection of competing films will be screened to invited guests.

The awards will take place on the final night of the festival – Sunday 26 November at the Warner Bros studio in London, where Edgeware will present the prize for Best Short Film. Previous winners at the UK Film Festival include films from Hollywood legends Judi Dench and Timothy Spall.

“We’re thrilled to continue our association with the UK Film Festival for the second year running,” said Edgeware CMO, Richard Brandon. “It gives us the opportunity to support some of 2017’s best emerging talent, from directors to producers and actors. Filmmakers have more platforms than ever before to deliver their projects, and we’re delighted to be able to support and help them communicate with even more audiences.”

Festival director, Murray Woodfield, said: “The UK Film Festival is one of the most highly regarded festivals in the UK, and is attended by filmmakers, editors, actors, content owners, distributors, journalists and film critics from around the world. It’s great to have Edgeware’s support for another year.”
