Simplestream opens new North American office

Simplestream, a leader in live and on-demand OTT services, has announced the opening of a new office in Toronto. This expansion is testament to the accelerating demand for the company’s unified, end-to-end live streaming and live-to-VOD services. The Toronto office is a key component of Simplestream’s 24/7 support, first-class customer service and dedicated account management.

Chief executive officer, Adam Smith, said: “This is an important step for Simplestream. It will enable us to continue offering the best services, solutions and support to our North American customers – while expanding our corporate functions to meet our global growth objectives. Toronto is a great location for our business to flourish and provides excellent access to a strong talent pool to grow our market footprint in North America.”

Simplestream was founded in 2010 at a time when providing OTT video services was just starting to gain momentum. Over the last eight years, the company’s mission has been to reduce the complexity of delivering video services, so more content players can capture a greater share of the booming streaming market. Simplestream has grown to become an industry-leading authority that enables broadcasters, platform operators, content owners and distributors of any size to quickly launch next-generation TV services – increasing reach through multiple business models.

Simplestream’s services and solutions are used by broadcasters and rights holders that manage a wide range of content – across entertainment, sports and teleshopping sectors. Simplestream customers include Sony, A+E Networks, Turner Broadcasting, QVC, News Corp, MP & Silva and Discovery Networks – with deployments that have launched in the UK, Europe, United States, Africa, the Caribbean and Asia Pacific.

“Simplestream has grown organically over the last few years as a disruptor that already has major North American customers," said Dan Finch, chief commercial officer at Simplestream. "The time is now right to ensure we can provide even better support for new and existing customers, as we see our disruptive services enjoying accelerating market engagement globally. We’re consistently innovating and showing great results for our efforts – as evidenced by strong traction with key content players and recent award accolades. This second office will support our continued expansion, reach and capabilities.”
